Calligraffiti is an art form that combines traditional Chinese calligraphy with modern-day graffiti. The group was formed by second-generation Chinese-American young adults who currently reside in Southern California. They utilize glow-in-the-dark paint and spray paint to create t-shirts with funny sayings that combines hip-hop culture, pop culture and ancient Chinese proverb. Often times when Chinese proverb translated into English, it takes on another meaning. Glow in the dark paint symbolizes the stereotype of Chinese Americans which are polite, quite, subtle and well-mannered ..etc.
