I am here
The cover of the book “I Am Here,” in conjunction with the yellow dots locate where I am, in 2008, geographically on a world map. The use of CMYK, brown and grey colors, and the consistent application of body type size and placement builds the framework. The construction of this book also allows for it to function either as a book or a poster. An outline of a world map is drawn to record my memories and perspectives on places I have traveled to; pull-quotes and text boxes relating personal traveling experiences are created in Illustrator as a 102 x 44 inch file and overlayed on top of the printed body text in InDesign, creating an unexpected result. The underlying message is that life is a journey-- be simple and simply live life with the surprises and satisfactions that this entails.
